Id Software has delayed DOOM Eternal to March 20, 2020 from its original release date of November 22, 2019. Id says the delay has been decided in order to give the game some more polish and ultimately deliver an experience that will live up to fans’ expectations. Along with the delay announcement, the company has also clarified a number of other things related to the game. We’ve learned that DOOM Eternal’s so-called Invasion Mode, which allows players to enter another player’s campaign as a demon, will be available as a free update shortly after launch. Furthermore, the Switch port of DOOM Eternal will only be launching after the other versions and has no announced release date as of yet. Finally, it’s been revealed that Doom 64 will be available as a pre-order bonus on all platforms (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch) and will launch alongside DOOM Eternal on March 20, 2020.
