I believe it’s safe to say that the name of Wadjet Eye Games has more or less become associated with quality 2D point & click adventure games – we had the quite brilliant Blackwell series, then there was Resonance, Gemini Rue, and the list could go on and on. The latest title to join that repertoire is a game called Technobabylon, announced in January of this year. The game, set in 2087, will take us to a cyberpunk universe where the value of human interaction has rapidly diminished, and to a city which is mostly governed by an omnipresent AI. Enter our heroes, two investigators searching for a mindjacker who is known for entering the neural wirings of ordinary people, stealing their knowledge, then leaving them for dead – all in all, an interesting premise, to say the least.

The game now has a release date as well for the Windows version (Mac and Linux versions will also follow), so if you’re intent on planning your gaming schedule in advance, know that May 21st is the date you should be marking on your calendar. And if you’re already dead set on spending that day with Technobabylon, you’ll also be happy to hear that pre-orders are now open as well. If you do decide to pre-order, you’ll be granted a bunch of extras including a behind-the-scenes video, a digital soundtrack, and more.
