Iron Meat, a 2D side-scrolling shooter that reminds me of the legendary Contra series in all the best ways, will be launching on September 26. Taking place in a world being invaded by The Meat, a hostile biomass of flesh that devours anything and everything in its path, the game will have you take up arms and – hopefully – blast this intergalactic threat off the face of the galaxy. Offering nine levels of pure action and gore, along with numerous challenging boss fights, Iron Meat certainly looks like it’s going to keep fans of the genre busy – and that’s not all, as the game will also offer local couch co-op for those hoping to defeat the dreaded Meat with a trusty friend at their side.
