Developer Mass Creation will be launching its fast-paced ninja beat’em up Shing! on August 28 – what’s more, the team has also released a new developer diary video that briefly explains the game’s mechanics and some of the design philosophy behind its inception. According to said video, Mass Creation’s goal with Shing! was to create a beat’em up title that is both accessible and fun to play without being bogged down by overly complex mechanics – by using a system that lets players move their weapons with the right analogue stick, the game allows for a wide variety of stylish moves to be performed without forcing you to memorize elaborate combo strings. Additionally, the team’s desire to balance accessibility with challenge has also affected the way enemies, levels and AI were designed, leading to combat encounters that will require players to strategize and work together in order to prevail. You can check out the full video below:

Shing! will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Switch.
