In case you haven’t quite heard of Jenny LeClue just yet, that will – hopefully – change very soon. At the very least, by the time you finish reading this, as the upcoming Kickstarter point-and-click adventure from Mografi has been fully funded and is currently attempting to tackle its numerous stretch goals. But more on that later. In the game, you take on the role of Jenny LeClue, a young detective who faces quite possibly the most daunting mystery of her life when her own mother ends up as the prime suspect in a murder case. While the game is more or less a classic point and click adventure focused on exploration and the clever untangling of various mysteries, the story itself is not planned as a linear affair: choices made by the player in the first episode, for instance, will permanently affect episode 2 and so on. The game is currently looking to gain a decent boost in terms of its content very soon, with new scenes and characters being added upon reaching the $75.000 stretch goal. Later goals aim to take care of future installments, with Episode 2 being the $135.000 stretch goal and Episode 3 the $200.000 one.
At the moment, Mografi is looking at a potential release date of 2016 December for the title, launching on PC, Mac and Linux. There’s no definite word on any console ports just yet but, much like everything else, this aspect of the project, too, will greatly depend on how many of the stretch goals are reached.
