Could this be it? Indeed, it may be. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. As you may or may not have heard, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night assistant director Koji Igarashi (and producer to most of the CV titles that followed it) left Konami back in 2014 in order to try his luck alone. Rumors have been afloat regarding a new project, but nothing concrete thus far – and now, well, we still don’t have a definite announcement, but something that might lead up to one, at least. A site has gone online recently (connected to the #igavania hashtag), asking curious passers-by whether they prefer the sword or the whip – both of which were weapons wielded by former Castlevania protagonists –, with a person who very much resembles Igarashi himself, dressed as Dracula and making various cryptic comments. Whatever your choice may be, this could lead to something potentially exciting and Castlevania-ish. Let’s hope it does.
