After the success of Lords of Shadow on PC, Konami’s recent announcement that the 3DS side-scroller Castlevania: Mirror of Fate will be getting an HD Steam release most likely comes as no massive surprise. The game’ storyline will take place 25 years after the events of the original Lords of Shadow, and stars – among others – Trevor Belmont, another warrior from the Brotherhood of Light. Mirror of Fate serves as the middle chapter in the „new” Castlevania trilogy developed by MercurySteam, continuing the saga that began in Lords of Shadow while acting as a prequel leading up to Lords of Shadow 2. The PC version comes with the expected improvements, that is, HD graphics, as well as a special Boss Rush mode.
Mirror of Fate HD is scheduled to be released sometime this month.
