Brian Fargo announces Bard’s Tale 4 as a sequel to 1988’s third installment

According to InXile Entertainment (Wasteland 2, Torment: Tides of Numenera) CEO Brian Fargo’s recent announcement at PAX South, The Bard’s Tale 4, a brand new installment in the classic RPG series, is currently in the making. Why a fourth game, you may ask? Why, because there’s been three other games before it, of course – except, they were released a long, long time ago. As in, decades ago. While there was indeed an action-oriented 2004 installment in the franchise titled simply The Bard’s Tale (it was a bit of a reboot, you see), Fargo’s newly announced title will instead work as a proper sequel to The Bard's Tale III: Thief of Fate, released back in 1988. The game, as Fargo explained, will be utilizing turn-based combat. Currently, a Kickstarter campaign is planned to get the project funded, so hopefully we’ll learn more about the game then.
