Bloodstained: Ritual of the NightPlatform: PC, PS4, XBox OneGenre: Action-adventureDeveloper: ArtPlay, DICO, WayForward TechnologiesPublisher: 505 GamesRelease: 06/18/2019Koji Igarashi’s spiritual successor to Castlevania, known only as Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, finally has a release date. Yes, you heard me right – the project, Kickstarted all the way back in 2015, will be launching this summer on all platforms: the date you’ll need to circle in your calendar is June 18 for Steam, GOG, PS4 and Xbox One; the Nintendo Switch version, meanwhile, will be arriving a few days later on June 25. That’s not the only thing the latest trailer revealed, though: after they’d received a whole bunch of criticism regarding the game’s looks (some of which you can even see in the video), the team worked hard to polish up the art style and make it more vibrant and pleasing to the eye. You can check out the fruits of their labor in a side-by-side comparison shown off during the new trailer:
