Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is getting some free updates very soon – one will let you play as a new character, Zangetsu, while the other will add a so-called Randomizer into the game. Zangetsu is unlocked by finishing the main campaign with the Good Ending; he comes with a host of unique sword abilities that differentiate him from Miriam, the original protagonist, so if you’ve been hankering for some extra replay value, this might be what you’re looking for. However, if you’d like to spice things up even more, look no further than the Randomizer. With this tool, players can freely modify various elements of the game, including item drops, quests, shops, key items and even the location of save rooms in order to create wildly unique and challenging experiences for themselves – just for the hell of it.
Both Zangetsu and the Randomizer will launch on May 7 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Switch owners, on the other hand, will have to wait until late May or early June.
