Developer The Game Kitchen’s wildly popular 2D action-platformer, Blasphemous, has just received its third and final free content update. Titled Wounds of Eventide, the free expansion adds even more layers to Blasphemous’ world and narrative – other than including a variety of new levels and brand-new bosses to fight, it also sets up a story that will be further explored in the seemingly inevitable Blasphemous sequel, currently set to launch sometime in 2023. So, then – are you ready for another chance at penance? If so, watch this trailer first:

As mentioned above, Wounds of Eventide comes as the third major update to the game – 2020’s Stir of Dawn was a similarly meaty update with additional game modes and bosses, while 2021’s Strife & Ruin saw Blasphemous crossing over with Castlevania creator Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
