Blasphemous 2, developer The Game Kitchen’s punishing metroidvania sequel, is about to get even bigger come October 31, just in time for Halloween. Not only is it receiving a free update called True Torment, featuring a variety of updates and additions, but it’s also getting a paid DLC expansion titled Mea Culpa that further expands on the game with extra content. Let’s start with the free stuff: True Torment includes several expanded areas (Choir of Thorns, Sunken Cathedral and the Basilica of Ancient Faces), has new connecting zones for faster traversal, a new challenge in the form of the so-called Labyrinth of Tides, and... a much-coveted New Game+ mode, along with new enemies. And now for the paid DLC: Mea Culpa, a story centered around the sword wielded by The Penitent One in the original, adds two new zones to the game, as well as new bosses, quests, NPCs and items, plus an alternate ending to discover. Head over here for a full list of what we’ll be getting in the update.

The Mea Culpa DLC will set you back L11.99 / $11.99 / €11.99, and will also come with a 20% launch discount for two weeks, should you decide to get it early. It will be available on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series and Switch.
