Team Ladybug, the development studio you may be familiar with if you’ve played games like Touhou Luna Nights and Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth, has announced its latest metroidvania project: Blade Chimera. Described as an “occult-inspired cyberpunk metroidvania”, Blade Chimera takes place in a semi-near future where demons and monsters have become commonplace, and where humanity continues to wage a bloody, decades-long war against them. On a more personal level, the game will follow the journey of Shin, an amnesiac demon hunter who must recover his lost skills and memories while slowly discovering what happened to his missing wife. The primary unique aspect of the game, other than what we’ve already come to expect from Team Ladybug, comes in the form of Shin’s demonic blade, which allows him to interfere with the past, thus introducing a variety of gameplay elements.
