Developer DALOAR and publisher Daedalic Entertainment have revealed The Occultist, a first-person horror game with an intriguing premise and a healthy dose of the supernatural. In it, players will take on the role of seasoned paranormal investigator Alan Rebels as he takes on a case that promises to be something different – this time, you see, Alan travels to the mysterious island of GodStone in search of his missing father. An island that once gave home to a gruesome cult that performed unspeakable rituals, GodStone was abandoned in 1950 and has remained deserted until your arrival. As Alan, you’ll have to use your wits and investigative skills, along with your mystical pendulum, and peel back layers of intrigue as you delve into the haunting secrets of the isle. Sounds pretty fascinating based on what I’ve seen so far, but sadly, we’ll have to wait until next year to get a taste of The Occultist, as it’s set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series sometime in 2025. In the meantime, here’s a trailer:
