I almost can’t believe it myself, but yes, there will apparently be a new Baldur’s Gate title coming out sometime in the future from Beamdog, the team behind the Enhanced Edition remakes of the first two games. The source, as you would expect, is the official blog of Beamdog itself, labeling the new title as “Adventure Y” for now, and explaining how it will be a classic Infinity Engine title that, in terms of storyline, will bridge the gap between the Enhanced Editions of Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2. They’ve also released a number of pictures, which you can view over here. At the moment, we know nothing else about the title other than that it’s coming – according to Beamdog, that will change sometime this spring, when more information will be revealed about the project. Discussing the topic of a potential Baldur’s Gate 3, Beamdog went on to explain that there’s currently no such project in development, although that may or may not change in the future.

The company has also revealed that it’s working on something called “Project: Beartrap” and that it’s a “departure” from what they’ve worked on in the past. More information on this title will be revealing this summer.
