You might’ve noticed that Beamdog was teasing a new Baldur’s Gate announcement with a fancy countdown site during the past number of days. Well, the countdown is over, and now we know the full name of the project – Beamdog revealed Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, a brand new adventure bridging the gap between Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 while introducing a new chapter in the beloved Bhaalspawn saga. Sometime after the events of the original Baldur’s Gate, a warrior named the Shining Lady makes her entry on the Sword Coast, marching with steel and forcefully recruiting all those who cross her path – rumor says it that she’s also a child of Bhaal, much like yourself.
As an expansion to Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition (this also means that you’ll need the original game to play it), Siege of Dragonspear will offer new areas, new monsters and new characters alongside plenty of old friends to reunite with, including a certain lovable warrior and his peculiar hamster. The game is expected to launch on PC, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. A release date has not been announced just yet.
