American McGee, whose name should sound more than familiar if you’ve played American McGee’s Alice and its sequel, Alice: Madness Returns, would love nothing more than to allow fans to visit Wonderland for a third time. Indeed, McGee is currently putting together a proposal for an independently funded, licensed and developed third installment tentatively titled Alice: Asylum, a game that would take place before the events of the previous two entries and explore Alice’s life in the Rutledge Asylum. One particular idea discussed on the project’s Patreon page is how Alice’s journey would be modeled after Kübler-Ross’s five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. The team has also recently shared a few art pieces and is looking for support from fans to spread the word on the project – you can do this by following four steps on McGee’s blog.
Alice’s last video game outing was 2011’s Alice: Madness Returns – this was followed by a successfully Kickstarted series of animated short films titled Alice: Otherlands, serving as a sequel to Madness Returns.
