Although From Software had initially claimed that they are not considering any additional content for their latest hit Dark Souls 2 (our review here), the recent announcement of three upcoming DLC episodes for the title seems to imply that fan feedback was positive enough to convince the Japanese company. The DLC pack – the first episode of which is launching next month – will be called Lost Crowns, and will concern a total of three separate installments. The first one, Crown of the Sunken King, is due out on July 22 and will see players return to the land of Drangleic in pursuit of the crown of King Vendric, one of the – rather powerful – optional bosses from the original title. The next episode to follow is titled Crown of the Old Iron King, with an expected release date of August 26, while the DLC trilogy will be concluded by a final installment, Crown of the Ivory King, launching on September 24.
The three pieces of DLC will be priced at $9.99 each on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, meaning roughly 30 dollars for the complete pack. However, those of you that are completely certain that they’ll be revisiting Drangleic this summer can save a few dollars in advance by purchasing the complete Season Pass on Steam for a reduced price of $24.99.
