Alone in the Dark-inspired The Padre is now on Kickstarter

Point and click 3D survival horror game The Padre has taken to Kickstarter, aiming to tell the story of a demon hunting priest who investigates the disappearance of an old cardinal in the 1910s. The game uses a retro-style aesthetic and gameplay that will no doubt remind old-school gamers of the original Alone in the Dark – various enemies and surprises await you on the journey, alongside a number of puzzles.

The Padre’s KS campaign has launched with an initial goal of $25,000 and several stretch goals planned. For those wishing to try their hand at the game before pledging, there’s an alpha demo available for download. Additionally, backers will gain access to an expanded version of the demo with more content, which will be distributed following the end of the campaign.

The Padre is currently scheduled to be released on Windows, Linux, and Mac in April 2018. Furthermore, iOS and Android version are also planned, but their release dates have not been determined yet.
