2024 was an eventful year in terms of video games – and it’s something we’ve already discussed in a previous article about our favorite indie games of last year, but what about 2025? It’s shaping up to be quite a packed year in terms of titles, including games you may or may not have forgotten about... So, what games are we looking forward to this year? Let’s not keep you in suspense any longer and jump straight into our list.
Ender Magnolia
A successor to Ender Lilies, Ender Magnolia will offer another melancholic trip into a dark and gloomy metroidvania world. Check out our Early Access review to see what we thought about it.
Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark
As a follow-up to Gal Guardians: Demon Purge, Servants of the Dark makes one fairly important change to its core gameplay – unlike its predecessor, it’s now going full metroidvania.
The Stone of Madness
Desperados meets 18th century Spain in this stealth game where you need to manage the strengths, weaknesses and mental traumas of your main characters in order to succeed.
Rift of the NecroDancer
A brand-new rhythm game set in the NecroDancer universe, with protagonist Cadence returning to once again rock out to some groovy tunes.
Civilization 7
It’s the next Civ game – do we need to say more?
Bionic Bay
A unique puzzle-platformer where you manipulate time and gravity to get ahead.
Industria 2
I may not have been the biggest fan of the first Industria, but its sequel has me intrigued.
The Occultist
A narrative-driven psychological horror game where you, as a paranormal investigator, visit a mysterious island that once gave home to a deadly cult.
Alabaster Dawn
An ambitious and visually striking action-RPG from the creators of the popular CrossCode.
The Sinking City 2
While the first game didn’t blow us away, as fans of all things Lovecraftian, we feel compelled to keep an eye on this one.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2
The original Bloodlines holds a very special place in my heart – which is probably why, despite its myriad developmental issues, I’m still hopeful that the sequel to one of the greatest PC RPGs of all time turns out good.
AI Limit
A soulslike that reminds me of Code Vein. I liked Code Vein.
Tormented Souls 2
There can never be enough survival horror games that are inspired by the old genre greats of the 90s.
Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer
The pixel art point & click adventures of Kathy Rain continue – and this time, our heroine is after a vicious serial killer known only as the Soothsayer.
Nightmare Operator
A PlayStation 1-inspired art style, anime aesthetics and plenty of monsters taken from Japanese folklore and urban legends? Sign me up.
Death Trash
A wonderful little RPG that’s currently out in Early Access – we can’t wait to see more of it, and wish only the best to the developers.
Dimhaven Enigmas
An intriguing and atmospheric adventure game with a lovely setting and some pleasantly head-scratching puzzles.
Tokyo Stories
First revealed a couple of years ago, Tokyo Stories is shaping up to be an intriguing mystery adventure game set in an abandoned Tokyo about a girl looking for her vanished friend.
