Developer Aurogon Shanghai is running a highly successful Kickstarter campaign for Afterimage, a metroidvania-style action game with jaw-dropping 2D visuals. Having launched the crowdfunding campaign in March, the team behind Afterimage has since surpassed their initial funding goal and even managed to unlock several exciting stretch goals – these goals include additional areas, a boss rush stage, and even voice acted cutscenes in Chinese, Japanese and English. Inspired by genre classics like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Afterimage will offer roughly 25-30 hours’ worth of metroidvania goodness set in a semi-non-linear world – taking on the role of an amnesiac young woman called Renee, players must reclaim their own memories while uncovering the buried secrets of the past.
