Suffer the Night, a survival horror game from solo developer Tainted Pact and publisher Assemble Entertainment, is out now. Set in the late 1980s, the game begins on the eve of a terrible storm, when protagonist Stacey receives a mysterious floppy disk with a text-based adventure game on it. Here’s the catch, though: the little “present” you received is no ordinary game, which becomes all too apparent when the violent atrocities described in it begin to leak into the real world. That said, you can’t just stop: controlling Stacey, players will have to progress through the text-based adventure while also dealing with the terrors that await them in the real world, as well as constant interruptions from the game’s horrific creator.
