MOMIBOSU, a precision platformer with retro pixel art visuals, will be launching on January 16, 2025, indie developer Peng has revealed. Described as a challenging 2D platformer with exploration elements, the game stars a boy and a girl who leave their underground village to go on an adventure and see distant lands – the narrative, with plenty of encounters, meetings and farewells, is being likened to a road movie. Despite being a platformer, the game will also feature metroidvania-style exploration as you move through the world, along with tough-as-nails bosses that may even utilize fighting game-like combos, requiring quick thinking and a variety of different strategies to beat. And while MOMIBOSU is intended to be a challenging experience, it will also include an accessibility feature that slows the game speed down quite a bit, thus lowering the difficulty for those who need it.
